On September 23, the Faculty of Information and Communication welcomed Ms. Nadine Zaccour, a member of the Michel Zaccour Foundation. The gathering took place after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Antonine University and the Foundation for two scholarships of 5000$ each. The scholarships were bestowed to Nathalie Issa and Ahmed Abdallah, two students pursuing a Master's in Communication, and who will write research papers about the thoughts and journey of Michel Zaccour as a symbol of the Lebanese independence.
Mr. Michel Zaccour was a well-known journalist, deputy, and minister whose ideas were of great importance for establishing the State of Greater Lebanon back in the 1920s, or 100 years ago!
The two students shared their first approach regarding their articles to Father Rector Michel Jalakh, alongside the VR for Administration, Fr. Ziad Maatouk, the VR for Academics and Research, Dr. Nidaa Abou Mrad, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Dalal Moukarzel and other Heads of Departments. The final articles will be supervised by Dr. Jenny Mouchantaff.
Finally, Ms. Zaccour congratulated the MA students for their bright ideas and expressed her willingness to offer scholarships to more students. Further discussions took place between the woman and stakeholders to extend the collaboration between UA and the Michel Zaccour Foundation, thus opening doors for numerous projects with students and the Faculty in the future.
