The Vice-Rectorate for Research - Université Antonine (UA)

The Vice-Rectorate for Research of the Université Antonine works on the:

1. observation, regulation, enhancement and promotion of scientific research activities, in particular through the production, event organization and a miscellany of publications, in accordance with international scientific standards and criteria, all of which are effectively rendered visible at both the national and international scales;

2. development of a university strategy, endorsed by the Université Antonine’s key decision-making bodies, with regard to scientific research, and thus through the consultation with the research bodies of the university’s academic units and the integration of the specific strategies of these units;

3. securing of financial resources for scientific research at the Université Antonine, including internal and external project funding and scholarships for researchers and PhD students;

4. development of printed and electronic resource materials made available to the university’s researchers and students by the University’s Central Library in accordance with the adopted scientific strategies; and

5. development of bridge building processes between the university’s research sector and corporate businesses, including through the signing of university-enterprise agreements for the supervision of doctorates and support for the creation of innovative business incubators with the researchers at the Université Antonine.


The Scientific Research Board

The Father Rector, upon the proposal of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research and subsequent to the consultation of the Administrative Council, decided to set up, as of October 9, 2018, the Scientific Research Board of the Université Antonine for the academic year 2018-2019. The latter is composed of the following members:

• Father Dr. Michel Jalakh, Rector;
• Prof. Nidaa Abou Mrad, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, Dean of the Faculty of Music and Musicology and Director of the Center for Research on Musical Traditions (CRTM);
• Dr. Pascale Lahoud (Executive Vice-Rector), as the officer in charge of research at the Faculty of Theological Sciences and Pastoral Studies;
• Dr. Zeina Mina, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences;
• Dr. Mona Nehme, Director of the Department of Nursing Science at the Faculty of Public Health;
• Dr. Joseph Moukarzel, Research Fellow at the Faculty of Information and Communication;
• Dr. Béchara Al Bouna, Director of the Telecommunications, Information and Computer Key Enabling Technologies (TICKET) Laboratory;
• Dr. Ghinwa Chlouk, Research Fellow at the Faculty of Business Management.
