Antonine University staff members celebrated Christmas this year with a little twist. Following two months of preparations, Antonine University welcomed onto its main campus- Hadat-Baabda, students and teachers of the Antonine Social School- Mrouj, where they all celebrated this festive holiday.
Various committees worked for months to ensure a well-organized event. Some celebrated St. Barbara’s day with the students in their school located in the Mrouj. Others baked and sold ginger bread cookies, while others were preparing different “stations” to welcome the students on the big day.
Joy and happiness, were among the feelings that were felt by both the students and UA staff on 21st December. The students visited the different game and food stations and the built-in clothes shop. They even animated the mass for the staff to enjoy. A real sense of Christmas was felt during the mass, thereafter the festivities continued with lunch for everyone. The atmosphere at lunch was animated with a magician, a play acted-out by the students and a musical band.
A joyful feeling and energy touched everyone. Tears may have rolled down some cheeks, but the candle that lit in the heart and soul of the students and staff, will keep the memories safe and warm.
