High-performance Concert by the Center for Early Music at UA | Antonine University

  • High-performance Concert by the Center for Early Music at UA

    18 October 2018

The Center for Early Music at Antonine University gave a concert in small groups at Our Lady of Seeds Chapel, in the presence of an audience of listeners who came to appreciate a repertoire inspired by Baroque music. Three virtuosos interpreted the concert: the German soprano Xenia Preisenberger, the Lebanese cellist Jana Semaan and the German harpsichordist Veit Jakob Walter brilliantly.
Walter played on the harpsichord made by Ugo Casiglia exclusively for UA in 2016, based on the Carlo Grimaldi-Messina 1697 model. Conquered by the energy and sensitivity that emanated from the trio, the audience warmly applauded the artists.
Moreover, Walter and Preisenberger each gave a weeklong Master Class at UA on harpsichord and baroque music theory as well as vocal technique and interpretation.
The next concert will feature the artist Jean-François Goudesenne. It will take place on November 27, 2018, at 8:00 PM, at the Lady of Seeds Chapel, in the Hadat-Baabda campus.
