  • Zahle Campus Celebrates the Francophonie Month

    On Friday, March 2, 2018, the Language Center of Antonine University, Zahle campus organized the third edition of its cultural café under the theme "Peace: culture and dialogue" as part of the Francophonie month, in collaboration with the French Institute in Lebanon.
    Minister Dr. Ghattas Khoury represented by Dr. Omar Halablab, as well as a crowd of political, media, academic and social figures attended the event, organized under the High Patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
    Three speeches were delivered respectively by the campus Director, Fr. Raymond Hachem; the Director of the Language Center, Dr. Micheline Ghattas; and Regional Director of the French Institute of Bekaa, Mr. Samuel Even. Furthermore, three speakers addressed the theme of peace: Dr. Jinane Chaker Sultani Milelli, Doctor of Anthropology, Ethnology, and Religious Studies; Mr. Jean-Marie Kassab, Lebanese French-speaking writer; and Mr. Elie Aouad, President of the Léba Association.
    Dr. Joseph Omran from the Faculty of Letters at the Lebanese Uiversity animated the event and introduced the speakers. The poets Nizar Francis and Nada Bejjany recited verses related to peace. Student Maria Abou Zeidan brilliantly sang a song dedicated to peace.
    To end the evening, a parade of Phoenician clothes was displayed.
