Message from the Head of Department

Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy (DPT), part of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Antonine University (UA.) Considered one of the best Physical Therapy programs in Lebanon and taught in both English at the Hadat–Baabda main campus, and in French at both Nabi Ayla–Zahle and Mejdlaya–Zgharta campuses.

Our principal concern at the DPT at UA has been to design a nationally and internationally recognized academic program. After a vast study of the current employment situation, we judged necessary to build up a theoretical and practical studies program according to the academic and professional needs in Physical Therapy. Physical Therapy is an essential allied-health profession, as well as a knowledge field of motricity sciences, movement physiology, and rehabilitation. The curriculum is made of practical and theoretical approaches based on sciences (humanities, basic foundational sciences, physical therapy related sciences, and physical therapy clinical sciences.) The rigorous practical approach is the key to this academic curriculum.

As you explore our page, you have taken the first steps in pursuit of a wonderful and fulfilling career in Physical Therapy. You are joining a program with a solid background and a promising future. You have chosen to be part of a progressive Physical Therapy program, a program with a duration of four academic years spreading over 129 credits. At the beginning of the second year of study, you will start clinical learning experiences alongside the academic coursework.

Since the beginning of the program in 2006, over 250 Physical Therapists graduated and proudly took their place in the healthcare system. They have made and continue to make valuable contributions to the health of our citizens around the nation.

By attending our program not only will you be getting a degree in Physical Therapy but you will be part of:

  • an accredited program by the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT);
  • a program with international mobility, MOU with the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL);
  • a qualified and experienced physical therapy faculty, who are easily accessible;
  • a multicultural faculty;
  • a diversity of students;
  • a program located on a beautiful campus;
  • an opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • an innovative clinical education program, including a wide variety of clinical settings places; and
  • 100% passing rate on the national colloquium exam.

Do not hesitate to contact us for any further details should you decide to enroll in our program.
