Basketball is the number one indoor sport in Lebanon. Recognizing its popularity, the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB) —governing body for the Lebanese basketball— and Antonine University (UA) are cooperating to improve and raise the standards of the play.

The agreement drawn up by the President of the Lebanese Basketball Federation Mr. Akram Halabi and the Rector of Antonine University Father Michel Jalakh aims to develop basketball in Lebanon through preparation, training, and scientific research to enhance the quality of the game among coaches and referees.

Antonine University will prepare and train students under the supervision of European and regional lecturers, thus offering them a basketball coaching diploma in collaboration with the French Basketball Federation that is certified by the Ministry of Education in Lebanon.

The University will also provide physical fitness tests to the players of the national team and upskill coaches and trainees of all national teams to increase the number of qualified professionals working in the world of basketball.
