In a constantly changing world where one has to be competent, proactive, and flexible at the same time, everyone is getting under pressure to reach their goals. Being aware of the challenges faced by all students of today, Antonine University (UA) decided to do its utmost to alleviate the psychological burden that weighs heavily upon them by providing them the keys to happiness.
How can this be done? Thanks to a large-scale event: a whole week dedicated to the promotion of well-being and mental health through more than fifteen workshops, open to everyone, and led by national and international key experts. This event is the first of its kind in a Lebanese university, and above all, a sign by which UA wants to showcase its commitment.
Antonine University concretized its commitment through several levels. On an official level, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Public Health represented by its national head of mental health, Dr. Rabieh El Chammay, and Antonine University represented by its Rector, Father Michel Jalakh.
On a practical level, this commitment translated into the creation of a Vice-Rectorate devoted to Integral Human Development aiming to promote a culture of well-being by implementing several actions, starting with the Wellness and Mental Health Week. This week will also be, from now on, the opportunity to assess the approaches and practices implemented last year.
That is not all. UA also focuses its action on promoting wellness and supporting its students through the Center for Relational Ecology, whose door is always open to all. At the Center, they can find an attentive ear and psychological support to help them overcome the difficulties of everyday life.
Always with the same aim of promoting a culture of well-being, the university is committed to support and encourage the positive actions proposed by students, teachers, and administrative staff. Well, this is what one could call a strong signal of UA’s involvement!
