    28 February 2024

As part of the Work Package 5 for the Women’s Empowerment for LEAdership and Equity in Higher Education Institutions (WE4LEAD) project, and to further align with the gender-balanced recruitment strategy, Dr. Huguette Abou-Mrad, Director of the Language Center (LC), and Ms. Laetitia Al Haber, Recruitment Officer at the Office of Human Resources (OHR) of Antonine University (UA), participated in a training session held in Sousse, Tunisia.

The training titled “Recruitment and Promotions Without Gender Stereotypes” took place on January 25 and 26, 2024, at the University of Sousse, on the Faculty of Medicine’s campus. It was led by Ms. Isabelle Regner, social psychology instructor, Assistant Director of the Center for Research in Cognition and Neurosciences, and Vice President of Gender Equality and Fight Against Discrimination at Aix-Marseille University (AMU).

The training aims to achieve 3 main objectives: firstly, to raise awareness among participants regarding gender biases and their cognitive imprints; secondly, to explain their subtle impact on the cognitive performances of candidates; and finally, to demonstrate that these influences can be identified and controlled. Furthermore, this training equips jury members with the knowledge to recognize and address potential gender biases, empowering them to intervene and counteract discrimination throughout the recruitment process.
