    04 April 2023

On March 20 and 21, 2023, Antonine University (UA) organized a “Training of Trainers Workshop for Faculty Members on the Fundamentals of Social Entrepreneurship.” This workshop was part of the regional project SAFIR, coordinated by the Institut français du Liban and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and co-financed by the European Union. The project aimed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote the socio-economic inclusion of youth in 9 countries in North Africa and the Middle East, with a primary focus on strengthening social entrepreneurship and addressing the challenges associated with the SDGs.

The training, delivered by Ms. Hala Nassif, Founder and President of The Rural Initiative and an expert in the field of social entrepreneurship, was attended by several faculty members from UA. This activity comes under Component 2 of the project, which focuses on “Supporting the Design or Strengthening of Training Courses Dedicated to Social Entrepreneurship and the SDGs.” It is worth mentioning that, as a second phase and within the same component, trainers will be invited to design either a component or a module of existing entrepreneurship courses dedicated to social entrepreneurship, or a course entirely focused on social entrepreneurship.
