Driven by their commitment to expanding the international reach of Antonine University (UA), the recent visit of the Secretary General (SG) and Vice Rector for Administration (VRA), Fr. Ziad Maatouk, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Integral Human Development (VRIHD), Fr. Jean Al Alam, to Université Laval (ULaval) on November 2, 2023, emphasized the University’s continuous efforts to forge cross-continental partnerships with distinguished institutions worldwide.

Beyond building upon the interinstitutional collaboration which was previously initiated in the field of nursing sciences, this dedicated visit laid the groundwork for promising partnerships in other diverse fields, ranging from sport sciences and engineering to that of artificial intelligence, in which ULaval proudly assumes a pioneering role. Furthermore, the meeting with Ms. Virginie Pesant, Advisor in International Relations at ULaval, proved to be a golden opportunity to strategically and jointly explore how faculty members and students can mutually benefit from the exchange of knowledge, ideas, perspectives, and best practices.

Moreover, the visit went beyond conventional academic discussions to emphasize the importance of mental health and well-being, which are central components among UA’s numerous initiatives, along with the sustainable development goals, whose importance was highlighted by the UA delegation seeking to draw inspiration from ULaval’s vast experience in their implementation.
