    The Faculty of Sport Sciences (FSS) at Antonine University (UA) is proud to announce the launch of the Diploma in Mountain Guide and Outdoor Activities, the first of its kind in Lebanon. The FSS has a reputation as Lebanon’s premier institution in the field of sport sciences, and this groundbreaking initiative further solidifies its position as a leader in shaping the future of outdoor adventure education.

    The FSS was able to develop a rigorous curriculum for the diploma program by leveraging its strong connections with national and international partners in the fields of sports and education. With the collaboration of the Lebanese Mountain Trail Association (LMTA), the Lebanese Mountain Climbing Federation, and the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC), the Diploma in Mountain Guide and Outdoor Activities program is designed to produce a new generation of skilled practitioners who possess a deep understanding of various nature-based activities, with a special emphasis on mountains and the broader outdoors.

    The diploma program was officially launched in the picturesque Mtein Nature Reserve, symbolizing the University’s innovative approach and the practical and theoretical content of the program. The launch event witnessed the presence of esteemed stakeholders related to the field of sports and education, including the Minister of Environment, Dr. Nasser Yassin; UA’s Rector, Fr. Michel Jalakh; and FSS’s Dean, Dr. Antonio Soutou; in addition to deputies and numerous distinguished stakeholders.
