What is expected of you as a UA Student?

As you have decided to join the UA community, we expect you to demonstrate appropriate behavior that is worthy of respect, without endangering yourself or others.
To get you started in the right direction, you are requested to:

  • Represent the University as responsible ambassadors.
  • Keep your language respectful and refrain from using profanity.
  • Value the uniqueness of each person and recognize the diversity of the UA community.
  • Engage with people of different faiths, beliefs, and values, and be considerate of others.
  • Treat UA instructors and administrative staff members, your peers, as well as external visitors with whom you may interact during your studies with politeness.
  • Refrain from engaging in or committing any form of misconduct:
    - refrain from any anti-social behavior (such as spitting, etc.);
    - refrain from any harmful or violent behavior (such as harassment, bullying, etc.).
  • Bear responsibility for your conduct.
  • Pay attention not to take any action that could bring the University into disrepute or disrupt its activities.
  • Be suitably dressed while observing decency.
  • Nurture good hygiene practices and maintain a clean-cut appearance.
  • Laugh with each other, not at each other.
  • Show respect for University property and report to the concerned people if you notice that something is damaged.
  • Smoke in designated areas only.
  • Demonstrate respect for the natural environment.

 

Classroom Behavior and Discipline

  • Take an active role in your learning and strive for your academic growth.
  • Be punctual in attending classes, as time is your most valuable asset.
  • Maintain silence in the classroom to avoid disrupting the learning process, unless you are asked by the instructor to speak up.
  • Ask for the instructor’s permission whenever you want to enter or leave the classroom.
  • Respond to the roll call yourself and do not impersonate to make a confirmation on behalf of a person who is not present.
  • Put your mobile phones away and on silent mode during class hours.
  • Maintain classrooms and campus cleanliness.
  • Share your concerns and challenges with your instructors.
  • Complete all assignments within the specified deadlines.
