  • UA Presents the Bronze Feather to Ms. Agnès de Geoffroy

    On June 12, 2024, the Rector of Antonine University (UA), Fr. Michel Saghbiny, presented the UA Bronze Feather to Ms. Agnès de Geoffroy, Attaché for Academic and Scientific Cooperation at the French Embassy in Lebanon, in tribute to her dedicated work with the Francophone universities in Lebanon.

    The ceremony started with a musical performance by Mr. Charbel Abi Nader, a Master’s graduate at UA’s Faculty of Music and Musicology (FMM), and was held at Our Lady of the Seeds Monastery on UA’s Hadat–Baabda Campus. In attendence were Ms. Sabine Sciortino, Director of the Institut français (IF) in Lebanon, along with UA’s vice rectors, deans, and heads of departments.

    In his speech, Fr. Saghbiny spoke about Ms. de Geoffroy’s achievements, noting her leadership at the IF since 2019. He highlighted her crucial contributions and dedicated support to the partnerships and initiatives between UA and the French Embassy in Lebanon, emphasizing her role in advancing educational collaborations and her lasting impact on the Institution. He thanked her for her dedication, professionalism, and friendship, as well as her significant contributions to supporting Francophone universities in Lebanon, on behalf of the entire UA community and himself personally.

    Ms. de Geoffroy expressed her gratitude and emotion upon receiving the Bronze Feather from UA, an institution and community with whom she shares an unfailing friendship.
