Overview

Mission

The mission of the Office of Athletics is to mentor the students and athletes for whom it is responsible. It thus contributes to their professional and personal development. Through various sports activities, it anchors in them key values that will serve them throughout their lives and makes them aware of strong notions such as those of leadership, teamwork, well-being, and resilience. This mission enables students and athletes to realize their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Values

  • Integrity: Like any Antonine University (UA) unit, the Office of Athletics is committed to a strong sense of integrity. It is a core component of our practice and encompasses every aspect of our behavior. We strive for high moral character, honor, respect, and honesty in all our actions and acknowledge that the strength of a community rests on the integrity of its members.
  • Leadership: It is echoed in our mentoring of the students placed under our responsibility, in other words, the generation of tomorrow. These students form a diverse community of learners that we never cease to encourage and empower.
  • Respect: We honor a climate of mutual respect open to diversity by recognizing each member’s contribution within the team. This surely includes respecting the rules of the sport and the officials who uphold them.
  • Teamwork: Knowing how to cooperate towards a common goal is crucial for any team. It is also an essential skill for the future career of our students.
  • Sportsmanship: Adequate sportsmanship starts by understanding that the very nature of athletics and sports is an integral part of the educational process; for this process offers countless opportunities for students to learn skills that will last a lifetime.
  • Responsibility: Being responsible means having the ability to consciously make decisions and adopt behaviors in order to improve oneself and/or help others. Primarily, responsible individuals are the ones who accept the consequences of their actions and decisions.

Message From the Director

“To uncover your true potential, you must first find your own limits and then you have to have the courage to blow past them.” – Picabo Street

At UA, we offer every student the opportunity to venture into the world of sports, whether athletes are looking to gain exposure or simply elevate their performance. For this purpose, we rely on elite coaches to encourage our players to reach higher standards.

As for our additional players in the game, UA fans, we have counted on them before and will surely continue to do so in the future. By attending both home and away events, they lend support to our teams, encourage all our players regardless of their role on the team, and give us an extra push towards victory. I would like to thank them for maintaining an appropriate sportsmanlike attitude, which demonstrates their respect for the authority of the sports officials.

We cannot wait for you to join us!
