Antonine University (UA) proudly participated in the 3rd International Conference on Gender Studies (ICGS 2025), held in July at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in partnership with the Tunisian Association for Gender Studies (ATEG).
Focused on the theme “Gender and Leadership in Higher Education,” the conference brought together international scholars and experts to discuss critical issues such as gender gaps in academic leadership, structural and cultural barriers, systemic stereotypes, and the challenges that continue to limit gender equality in universities.
Representing UA, Ms. Suzanne Feghali, Administrative Assistant at the Language Center (LC), took part in the sessions of ICGS 2025 and joined a specialized training on calculating parity indices. Conducted within the framework of the European project WE4LEAD, in which UA is an active partner, this training aimed to strengthen data collection and analysis.
The initiative contributes to advancing the implementation of a harmonized monitoring system for gender-related data, including recruitment, promotion, mobility, and salaries, across higher education institutions. By engaging in such projects, UA reaffirms its commitment to advancing equality, inclusion, and fairness within academia, both locally and internationally.
