Antonine University (UA) launched the 2025–26 academic year with a vibrant Welcome Week, held from September 9 to 12, 2025, across the Hadat–Baabda, Nabi Ayla–Zahle, and Mejdlaya–Zgharta Campuses.
This much-anticipated event marked the fourth edition of a beloved UA tradition, offering both new and returning students a dynamic introduction to university life under the inspiring theme “Where Magic Begins: Dream, Believe, Become.”
More than just a motto, the theme reflected the values and journey awaiting students:
- Dream: Let yourself hope. Open your heart to what could be, and dare to imagine a future without limits.
- Believe: Have faith in yourself, in the support of your University, and in God’s presence guiding you forward.
- Become: Take action, learn with purpose, and grow into the person you’re meant to be — in your career and in life.
A Week of Discovery and Connection
The theme set the tone for a four-day program that invited students to explore their aspirations, build meaningful connections, and step confidently into the new academic year.
The week opened with “Resources to Unlock Your Potential,” where each campus transformed into a bustling hub of student services, clubs, and support systems. Students had the opportunity to meet representatives from various UA units, discover ways to get involved in campus life, and — in one of the week’s most memorable highlights — witness the official launch of Sunbula, UA’s mascot. A symbol of heritage, faith, and community spirit, Sunbula embodies what it means to belong to UA and was warmly welcomed by the community.
Through the “Path to Purpose” sessions, students engaged with faculty members and academic staff from their departments. These exchanges gave newcomers a clearer vision of their programs and academic journey, helping them feel supported from the very beginning.
Another meaningful initiative was the “Meet Your Future Self” segment, where new students met with UA alumni from their faculties and departments. These conversations offered valuable insights into career paths, academic opportunities, and the importance of making the most of the UA experience.
One of the most anticipated gatherings was “Inspiring Growth,” where UA Rector, Fr. Michel Saghbiny, welcomed students with an uplifting message on community, purpose, and the power of believing in one’s potential.
Activities, Creativity, and Well-being
Afternoons and evenings were filled with engaging activities that blended learning, creativity, and entertainment. Students tested their knowledge in a lively Faith Fusion Trivia, reflected their creativity through art sessions painting on tote bags — symbolically crafting their own stories — and took part in wellness workshops that encouraged them to believe in themselves and their potential. Friendly sports competitionsbetween new and returning students added energy and team spirit to the week.
Another highlight was the movie night, featuring a screening of “The Greatest Showman.” The film’s celebration of dreams, resilience, and uniqueness echoed perfectly with the Welcome Week theme.
A further special addition was the “Magic Book of Transformation” — a pocket-sized companion divided into three sections: Dream, Believe, Become. Designed as a reflective and interactive notebook, the booklet offered daily affirmations, space for personal notes, and event-based stamps collected throughout the week.
A Magical Finale
The week culminated in the Magical Finale Party at the Hadat–Baabda Campus, where students from all three campuses gathered for a high-energy evening of music, dancing, and prize giveaways. The celebration marked the close of a week filled with exploration, connection, and community spirit.
As students now settle into the new academic year, UA’s Welcome Week 2025 stands as a powerful reminder that every journey begins with a spark — and that when students dream freely, believe deeply, and act with purpose, they begin to become the best version of themselves.
