Manuscript Processing

  • The author (or the corresponding author, if the article is written by more than one author) puts his manuscript in the format required by the Revue des Traditions Musicales (RTM), using the downloadable style sheet (URL) and applying the editorial standards of this periodical mentioned in the Author’s Guide for Manuscript Preparation.
  • All manuscripts should contain an abstract in English and an abstract in French, providing the title of the article in French and English. The abstract should be as brief as possible, including the significant contents and major findings of the work (not more than 200 words) and providing five keywords in French and English.
  • The author (or the main author) submits this manuscript by sending it to the editor at nidaa.aboumrad@ua.edu.lb accompanied by the two abstracts (French and English), the competing interest’s statement and the Anti-plagiarism commitment.
  • The submitted manuscript is read first by the editor, who determines if it falls within the “Aims and Scope” of the journal and if it is of sufficient interest to proceed further.
  • If not, the editor notifies the main author that this is the case.
  • If the manuscript falls within the “Aims and Scope” of the journal and is of sufficient interest, the editor introduces it into the peer-review process.
  • The review process is intended to be a "double-blind" peer-review.
  • The main author may suggest the names of appropriate and/or inappropriate referees.
  • The editor sends the anonymized manuscript to two outside referees.
  • Referees send to the editor written evaluations and recommendations that should be:
    - acceptance as it is;
    - acceptance with suggestions for a revision to the submitted paper; or
    - rejection.
  • The editor forwards anonymously to the author the referees’ evaluations and recommendations (emphasizing which ones need to be considered).
  • If there is a requirement for revisions, the main author introduces changes to his manuscript and sends it back to the editor.
  • Major revisions must be resubmitted within two months from request for revision.
  • Minor revisions should not take more than two weeks.
  • However, in some cases, only one review will be obtained, and it is up to the editor to make a final decision.
  • Once the article is accepted, it is subject to orthographic and stylistic editing, which is subject to the final decision of the main author.
  • The review process is generally completed within eight months. The authors will be notified if there is a delay.
  • The main author will receive a PDF file of the article and three copies of the journal free of charge.
