Healing the Invisible Wounds: Path to Hope in Times of War

Part of the UA Plus Program

As an institution, Antonine University (UA) is committed to enhancing the sustainable well-being of our local and global communities. We recognize that providing mental health support is a vital component of community resilience.

In this spirit, UA’s Vice Rectorate for Integral Human Development has launched a series of wellness sessions under the theme Healing the Invisible Wounds: Path to Hope in Times of War. This initiative addresses the unique psychological impacts of war, offering both theoretical insights and practical strategies designed to help individuals cope with trauma and foster resilience.

In times of conflict, many carry invisible wounds and often find themselves isolated in their suffering. Empathic listening aims to create safe and welcoming spaces where everyone can express themselves fully, without fear of judgment. These resonant spaces allow individuals to share their experiences and feel deeply heard and understood. This sixth session, Empathic Listening and the Creation of Resonant Spaces, aims to guide participants in establishing these listening frameworks, demonstrating how every word and emotion can become a bridge to authentic and supportive connections.

These listening circles not only provide emotional release but also foster reconnection with the group, creating a sense of belonging that nurtures collective resilience. In an academic setting, this humanistic approach encourages dialogue based on compassion and understanding. By learning to listen with empathy, we discover that beyond individual wounds, a common strength emerges, capable of uniting and supporting us in the healing process.
