Program Objectives

The Master of Arts in Information and Communication aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills as professionals capable of mastering a communication project from the strategy to the realization of products of all kinds, including those on the web and multimedia. Through an internship, students will gain the needed experience to sharpen their skills as competent communicators.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Master's degree in Information and Communication, the student should be a holder of a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communication, Social Sciences, Humanities, Graphic Design, or Advertising.

 

Teaching Methods

Based on hands-on activities along with theoretical courses, the main teaching methodologies in the Master’s degree are:

Evaluation Process

Based on the type of courses if theoretical or hands-on, we always refer to the course learning outcomes for evaluation according to the following:

  • Continuous evaluation: 50%
  • Final exam or final project 50%

By the end of the Master in Information and Communication, students should be able to:

  • Analyze methodologically a scientific article, an image, a text, a web product
  • Apply the principles of Information and communication sciences (SIC) and mass media in an individual or team marketing project
  • Decode regulations and jurisprudence in TIC, cybercrime, cyber-attacks, and cybercrimes
  • Locate on the web the information sites necessary and essential for the development of a communication project
  • Develop a communication strategy for a normal situation or a crisis
  • Communicate professionally in a team respecting the principles of listening and ethics
  • Produce research or a scientific document based on pre-established research, respecting the stages of a scientific study, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
