  • UA Signed Two Cooperation Agreements with the UFC

    Antonine University (UA), represented by its Rector Father Michel Jalakh, signed two new agreements with the University of Franche-Comté (UFC) represented by its president Professor Jacques Bahi. The purpose of these two new agreements is to establish a Master's degree in informatics Advanced Informatics and Applications and a Master's degree in Informatics - the Internet of Things (IoT).
    The signing ceremony took place in the presence of several figures including, Reverend Father Toufic Maatouk Secretary-General of UA, Professor Nidaa Abou Mrad Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, Reverend Father Ziad Maatouk Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, Jean El Alam Vice-rector for Integral Human Development, Reverend Father Francesco Khoury Director of the Office of International Relations, Dr. Chady Abou Jaoudé Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and many others.
    On this occasion, Rector Jalakh said a few words during which he made it clear that the UA international partnerships are part of the quest for excellence and continuous improvement. "It is not just a partnership, but also a friendship. A friendship that I would gladly qualify as strategic”, he said while assuring that the UA aims to extend this collaboration beyond the limits of the Faculty of Engineering to benefit other Faculties and services. He also praised the efforts made by the Faculty team and by the Office of International Relations, affirming that Antonine University provided the Faculty of Engineering with all the necessary resources and conditions to maintain and improve the culture of excellence. The purpose of these improvements is to motivate its members and to strengthen the Faculty position more and more on regional and international levels.
    For his part, Professor Jacques Bahi, the president of the University of Franche-Comté (UFC), declared himself happy with this new collaboration between UFC and UA. According to his terms, this collaboration completes the agreements concluded over the past recent years. He also affirmed that the UFC is doing its utmost to strengthen the partnership with the UA.
    This inter-university cooperation aims, among other things, to develop the exchange of students, teachers, researchers and staff, cooperative research projects or collaborative teaching and extension programs. It also strives for creating direct pedagogical and scientific links between the Department of Computer Science of the UFR STGI and the Centre de Télé-Enseignement Universitaire (CTU) of the University of Franche-Comté on the one hand and the Faculty of Engineering of Antonine University on another hand.
