The Department of Nursing Sciences (DNS) at Antonine University (UA), in collaboration with Lions Club Lebanon and Caritas, organized Children’s Health Day on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Mejdlaya–Zgharta Campus.
A Community-driven Initiative
Open to all, this event aimed to promote children’s health and well-being through free medical consultations, educational workshops, and festive activities, while reinforcing the bond between UA and the local community. The initiative was in full alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being.
Free and Specialized Care
Children and their families benefited from the expertise of specialists in pediatrics, psychology, nutrition, dentistry, speech therapy, and bio-psychotherapy, who carried out examinations, performed screenings, and provided personalized advice.
As part of its support, the Lions Club Lebanon made its mobile clinic accessible for free vision screenings, supervised by an ophthalmologist and an optician.
DNS Students in Action
On the front lines, nursing students greeted families, handled participant registration, and conducted interactive workshops on hygiene and disease prevention. They also organized entertaining activities—quizzes, role-plays, and educational games—that allowed children to learn while having fun.
A Joyful and Family-friendly Atmosphere
In parallel, Caritas created a warm atmosphere through a variety of activities such as face painting, music, dancing, and recreational programs. The day ended on a joyful note with small gifts distributed to the children, leaving each of them with a smile and lasting memories.
Through this initiative, Antonine University reaffirms its role as a driving force for awareness, education, and community service, placing the health and well-being of children at the heart of its mission.
