    07 April 2025

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC) at Antonine University (UA) hosted a distinguished academic event titled “Les Papes et les intellectuels Libanais. Publications sous les auspices du Saint-Siège.” The gathering celebrated the scholarly contributions of Dr. Nagi Kozaily, whose research and publications have received notable recognition from the Holy See.

In his keynote address, Dr. Kozaily explored the significance of his Vatican-endorsed works and their impact on global discourse, especially within the context of Lebanese intellectual heritage. Drawing from personal experiences and close encounters with several Popes, he offered attendees a rare perspective into the depth of his research. He also shared details about upcoming projects currently in progress under the auspices of the Holy See.

The event was moderated by Fr. Antoine Abboud, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Theology, who guided the conversation with insight and balance, fostering a dynamic exchange with the audience and deepening engagement with the subject matter.

Students, faculty, and members of UA’s leadership — including Secretary General Fr. Ziad Maatouk — joined the gathering, reflecting the University’s commitment to fostering meaningful academic dialogue. In a gesture of recognition, Dr. Dalal Moukarzel, Dean of the FIC, presented commemorative trophies to both Dr. Kozaily and Fr. Abboud, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the advancement of intellectual and cultural exchange.

The event attracted a large and engaged audience, whose thoughtful questions and active participation affirmed UA’s role as a space for critical thinking, cultural preservation, and scholarly excellence.
