The Antonine University Choir (UA Choir) presents a musical offering rooted in faith, heritage, and collective memory:
the album “Hymns of the Nativity,” by Joseph Waked, OAM; conducted by Toufic Maatouk, OAM, with the participation of soloists Mira Akiki (soprano), Roger Abi Nader (baritone), and Bechara Moufarrej (tenor).
Released as Antonine University marks its 30th anniversary, this album pays tribute to the sacred mystery of the Birth of Christ and to the rich musical legacy of the Antonine Maronite Order. It reflects decades of devotion, shaped by visionary figures, dedicated voices, and a tradition that continues to resonate across generations and continents.
More than a recording, “Hymns of the Nativity” is a living testament. It preserves hymns that have accompanied moments of prayer, celebration, and resilience, and reaffirms music as a profound expression of gratitude, beauty, and faith.
