    25 October 2022

As language mastery has become an undeniably powerful weapon in today’s digital world and is closely interconnected with academic and career success, the Language Center (LC) at Antonine University (UA) was excited to celebrate the launch of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) on October 20, 2022. By becoming an official IELTS test venue partner in the Hadat–Baabda area, UA will not only offer its students this valuable opportunity but will also be glad to welcome others in the neighborhood to fully satisfy their needs.

Whether the candidates are looking to gain admission to college or university abroad, seeking employment opportunities, or trying to reach their migration goals in one of the following English-speaking countries: The United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Ireland, this test is intended to bring them one big step closer to their education, career and life goals.

Depending on the purpose for which the test is taken, the IELTS academic or general training tests will be required, noting that both of them assess the following components: English speaking (do they pronounce English words correctly?), listening (do they understand all the ideas expressed?), reading (do they know how to answer the questions?), and writing skills (what about their lexical resources, grammatical range and task response?).

A band score is obtained for each of the four above-mentioned skills. In general, the test does not include questions with a high level of difficulty and complexity, for the answers can always be found in the text itself.

Furthermore, the only eligibility criteria that applicants meet is to be aged 16 years and above. Acceptable personal identification documents must also be submitted. As for the procedure to be followed on the day of the test, applicants must arrive one hour before the exam start time so that the IELTS team of experts can help them maintain a positive attitude and overcome test anxiety.
