In a continued effort to elevate evidence-based sport performance in Lebanon, the Faculty of Sport Sciences (FSS) at Antonine University (UA), through its research unit, the Laboratoire des 3S : Sport, Santé, Société (L3S), carried out a two-day, high-performance physical assessment for first division football players from Nejmeh Sporting Club on November 19–20, 2025. This initiative marks a significant step forward in advancing research-based athletic performance monitoring across the country.
Throughout the assessment protocol, players underwent a full battery of tests measuring power, endurance, mobility, and recovery. Drawing on the L3S’s rigorous methodology, the FSS research team produced individualized physical profiles that map out strengths, pinpoint key areas for improvement, and outline data-driven recommendations to refine coaching strategies and optimize training precision.
This first round of assessments also established robust baseline indicators that will serve as reference points for a follow-up evaluation in two months. This longitudinal approach will enable precise tracking of athletic progress, monitor adaptations to training loads, and measure performance outcomes with scientific accuracy.
Using data-driven methods rooted in international best practices, this assessment supports UA’s ongoing contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by reinforcing safe, evidence-based performance enhancement and athlete welfare.
As UA continues to expand its national footprint in sports science research, projects of this scale demonstrate the University’s dedication to impactful research, student-centered expertise, and strategic partnershipsthat benefit athletes, clubs, and the wider community. They also underscore a core pillar of UA’s mission: generating knowledge that serves society and fosters a more sustainable and performance-driven future.
