From April 30 to May 4, 2025, Antonine University (UA) participated in the OMT Beirut Sports Festival to showcase the diverse academic programs and diplomas offered by its Faculty of Sport Sciences (FSS). The University’s presence underscored its commitment to advancing the field of sport sciences through educational pathways that align with the evolving needs of students, professionals, and the market.
Throughout the five-day event, full-time and part-time instructors from the FSS welcomed visitors at UA’s booth, introducing the Faculty’s various programs and highlighting their objectives and added value. Current students joined them, enthusiastically sharing personal insights and spoke about the dynamic, inclusive learning environment offered by the FSS, where all programs and activities are delivered within a single-campus setting.
A notable highlight of UA’s participation was the recording of five podcast episodes hosted by Eric Moukarzel, a Bachelor of Business Administration student at the Antonine School of Business. The episodes featured in-depth conversations with several faculty members, each providing a deeper look into key academic offerings.
Dr. Antonio Soutou, Dean of the FSS, discussed the academic and professional growth of the Faculty in recent years, as well as new initiatives and upcoming diplomas. Mr. Rony Gerges, Chairperson of the Department of Sports Training, introduced the European University Diploma for Physical Preparation (DUEPP) and the University Diploma in Basketball Coaching, detailing their objectives, curriculum, and career prospects. Mr. Bechara Salameh, Coordinator of the Diploma in Mountain Guide and Outdoor Activities, outlined the program’s structure, target audience, planned developments, and anticipated accreditations. Mr. Mounir Abi Jaoude, Chairperson of the Department of Sports Management, explored the BA in Physical Education and Sport – Sports Management, focusing on its learning outcomes and curriculum design. Finally, Dr. Majed Moubarak, Chairperson of the Department of Motricity Education and Adapted Physical Activities, shed light on the BA in Physical Education and Sport – Motricity Education and Adapted Physical Activities, highlighting its growing relevance in the field of adapted physical education.
In parallel with the podcasts, interviews were conducted with stakeholders, alumni, students, and athletes, offering inspiration and firsthand perspectives for those aspiring to pursue a career in sport sciences.
