Antonine University (UA) celebrated the Inauguration Mass for the academic year 2024–25 at the Hadat–Baabda Main Campus, in Our Lady of the Seeds Church. The Mass was presided over by Reverend Abbot Joseph Bou Raad, Superior General of the Antonine Maronite Order. The assembly was further graced by Reverend Fr. Boutros Azar, the Superior General’s First Assistant, and Reverend Fr. Michel Saghbiny, UA’s Rector. Priests, deans, and heads of departments stood alongside students and staff members, both academic and administrative, symbolizing the unity of purpose that defines our Institution. Key University groups played an integral role in the organization, namely the Office of Student Affairs, the University Pastoral Care, and the Music Club.
In these turbulent times for Lebanon, the Mass transcended its traditional role. It became a moment for the UA community to unite in prayer for their nation and to remember those affected by recent acts of violence. This collective invocation for peace underscored the University’s commitment to its broader social responsibilities. In a touching ritual that bridged the sacred and the everyday, Abbot Bou Raad blessed water bottles with heartfelt prayers. These simple vessels, transformed into symbols of hope, were distributed as tangible keepsakes for this occasion.
