  • UA Students Join Pinky Promise for Breast Cancer Awareness

    22 October 2025

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Department of Nursing Sciences (DNS) at Antonine University (UA) took part in the Pinky Promise “Marche Rose event organized by the Barbara Nassar Association at the Forum de Beirut.

Through a creative and educational booth, the DNS actively contributed to Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering engaging activities, informative materials, and personalized health guidance. The initiative aimed to spread awareness, foster prevention, and show solidarity with patients and survivors.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed interactive discussions led by a group of dedicated DNS students, who enthusiastically shared essential information about early detection, screening, and self-care. Their approachable and innovative approach transformed the booth into a hub of learning and encouragement, resonating with the event’s spirit of hope and unity.

Walking in Solidarity: The “Marche Rose

In addition to hosting the booth, UA students joined hundreds of participants in the walk Marche Rose held at 4:00 PM. Dressed in pink and carrying messages of encouragement, they walked side by side with survivors and supporters to honor those affected by breast cancer and to promote the importance of early detection. Their presence reinforced UA’s dedication to empathy, service, and community health advocacy.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by promoting awareness, encouraging early detection, and addressing disparities in access to care and outcomes.

By empowering students to engage in health promotion and awareness initiatives, UA continues to nurture responsible citizens and compassionate professionals who embody the University’s mission to enhance the sustainable well-being of local and global communities.
