The promise of an exciting adventure is fulfilled when the right intention is set and the right action is taken. We are aware that high schoolers may be mulling over the hardest decisions to make, namely to choose the right university. For this reason, Antonine University (UA), a student-centered institution, stepped up its efforts to bring together knowledge seekers whose willingness to pursue their dreams of success is a source of hope and optimism for building a tomorrow that is worth the wait.

In fact, the Office of Orientation and Admissions (OOA) organized an on-campus Open Day event in an unconventional manner on May 19, 2022, wherein more than 700 high schoolers from 100 private and public schools, along with their parents and school counselors, were warmly welcomed from 4:00 PM until sunset. The aim of this annual event was to help them picture themselves taking advantage of a conducive learning environment, find out more about the programs they are interested in, get a glimpse of campus life, explore the services and facilities UA offers, ask any questions they deem necessary before applying, encourage them to engage with a community that can contribute to their overall development by supporting them to nurture their mental health and wellbeing.

As orientation is key in ensuring that their transition goes smoothly and suits their aspirations, the event started on a high note, with the Secretary General, Fr. Ziad Maatouk and Mr. Ryan Abboudy, Director of the Office of Orientation and Admissions giving enthusiastic speeches to spread the power of optimism and let the students enjoy this opportunity to the maximum extent possible. Participants were then able to meet the deans, directors, and faculty members who provided them with all necessary details about the undergraduate majors. They were also apprised of the faculty achievements as well as its established projects. The university tour covered all the buildings and campus areas, thus allowing the visitors to discover the different facets of the university, and was followed by a reception, replete with food for the body and the soul, while watching the breathtaking beauty of the sunset which seemed like a truly magical moment.
