On October 22 and 23, 2024, Antonine University (UA) participated in an international conference organized by the “Réseau Francophone des Femmes Responsables dans l’Enseignement Supérieur et la Recherche” (RESUFF), in collaboration with the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie”. The event was themed “10 Years of Advocacy and Commitment to Continue.”
During this annual conference celebrating a decade of efforts to promote women’s access to leadership positions, UA reaffirmed its commitment to working towards gender equality in the academic world.
As a stakeholder in this strategic vision and a partner in the WE4LEAD project, UA, represented by Dr. Huguette Abou-Mrad, whose mobility was supported by the French Ambassy – Institut français Liban, contributed to discussions focused on three key areas: commitment to supporting women in higher education, developing partnerships, and adopting an evidence-based approach.
The rich and constructive exchanges allowed participants to identify concrete actions to foster greater gender equity in higher education. Building on these recommendations, UA and RESUFF will continue their joint efforts to make gender equality a reality within their institutions.
