On September 16, 2022, Antonine University (UA) Rector, Fr. Michel Jalakh, participated in the International Conference on “Science-Policy Interface in the Euro-Mediterranean Region,” organized in conjunction with the Euro-Mediterranean University Network (EMUNI) General Assembly at EuroMed University of Fes, Morocco. The conference activities focused on 3 main topics: National Science-for-policy Ecosystems and Platforms: Opportunities and Challenges; Regional Science-for-policy Structures: Are They Fit for Purpose?” and Internationalization at Home – Science and Policy to Serve 21st Century Learning Innovation.

Moreover, EMUNI General Assembly officially approved the membership of UA in the EMUNI network after the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between EMUNI President, Prof. Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, and UA’s Rector, Fr. Jalakh, earlier this year in Piran.

Parallel to the conference, a management meeting of the EU project MED2IaH consortium was held on September 15, and discussed South-Med partners’ activities development, lessons learned, as well as the quality of the deliverables submitted and further improvements which could be made in the coming phase of the project.
