Despite all the challenges and cumulative crises, hope can still flourish. Mohamad Fahs, a graduate student at the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC), has an exuberant talent and a powerful voice that attained international recognition. The story of Mohamad Fahs is exemplary and proves that practice, dedication, persistence, and commitment can lead to a roaring success.

Antonine University (UA) takes great pride in its student’s meritorious achievements, from the moment he has decided to use his voice to positively impact the world, inspire his peers and leave a tangible lasting imprint in the voice-over industry. His talent has not gone unnoticed, as he succeeded in embodying excellence and became a high achiever. Mohamad, for us, is the embodiment of achievements, as he gained a well-deserved prestige, and was able to create an abundant presence in the voice-over world.

The nominees for the "Outstanding" and "Best" voice-over performances have been announced for the 8th annual Voice Arts Awards (SOVAS). Among the nominees for the award “Outstanding narration - TV or film” was Mohamad Fahs, alongside 4 others. The candidates were distributed over 100 categories in different languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese. The winners of the prestigious awards were announced at the Voice Arts Awards Gala that was held on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The Voice Arts Awards is a global competition that is presented by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) and is similar to the Oscars and Emmys, where the work is judged and scored by a panel of experts, and the top 5 scores in each category are nominated for the award.

For those of you who are curious to know more about Mohamad, we will narrate a few of his achievements. Mohamad discovered his talent at a young age and decided to utilize his gift since 2010. He has been engaged in the fastest-growing fields of dubbing and voice-over and took part in many local and international documentaries, drama series, cartoons, and commercials. Mohamad had been featured on prominent international media outlets, most notably: National Geographic Abu Dhabi, National Geographic Kids, Discovery, Discovery Kids, Cartoon Network, MBC, Al Jazeera Documentary, Al Jazeera Kids, Fatafeet, Qatar Debate, UNDP, UNICEF, Netflix and MBC 3. He was chosen as a jury member for the short film competition at the IE International Short Film Festival (IESFF) for two consecutive years. On the academic level, Mohamad is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Information and Communication at UA. He is enrolled in the “Engineering of Media” program at Université de Toulon, and has been offered the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility program and received a grant from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3, which enabled him to immerse himself in a new cultural experience and the exploration of foreign languages in dubbing as he was living in Paris, France.

Mohamad’s endeavors to develop his knowledge and competence in the field of copywriting and film production, as well as that of voice-over, are perpetual. In fact, he built his own recording studio and aims at growing his YouTube channel “Soukoun”. According to Mohamad, the most important attributes to becoming successful are hard work and perseverance, while always being on the lookout for the best practices. Mohammad affirms that it takes determination, effort, and patience to become an expert. He also highlighted the key role of UA in helping its students find their purpose and achieve outstanding results, especially since the University is committed to promoting and celebrating its students' accomplishments.

As a highly experienced voice artist, he has the required skillset and further improved his talent to pick up the particular skills needed to impersonate various characters. He has demonstrated tremendous versatility, by adapting his tone of voice and recording different types of commercials and cartoons in a way that always mesmerized the listeners. He dives into his work with renewed energy and effortlessly brings any script to life.

Mohamad is goal-oriented and possesses a passion that pushes him through every hardship. He is capable of stirring the listeners’ emotions to the point of inducing a variety of feelings: happiness, sadness, anger, excitement… Mohamad can make you smile, laugh, or even bring you to tears.

Last but not least, he recommended his peers to always move toward their dreams, pursue their own success and go beyond their limitations. He highlighted the importance of believing in themselves and believing in their country to shape a brighter future for Lebanon. He encouraged them to grab the opportunities that knock on their doors and be relentlessly resilient to overcome hardships.
