    Cinematic Visions: Second Edition

    Cinematic Visions” returns for its second edition as a celebration of emerging cinematic voices at Antonine University (UA). Organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) in collaboration with the Department of Audiovisual Studies at the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC), the event showcases the creative and artistic achievements of senior students through a curated public screening.

     

    This edition features six senior short films presented before an audience and a distinguished jury of industry professionals. Following each screening, directors will engage in a live Q&A session, offering insight into their creative processes, artistic choices, and filmmaking journeys.

     

    At the end of the evening, one film will receive the Jury Prize, while attendees will select the People’s Choice Award through live voting.

     

    An evening dedicated to storytelling, dialogue, and the next generation of filmmakers.

    Jury Members

    Ms. Nada Abou Farhat

    A distinguished Lebanese actress recognized for her versatility across theater, film, and television, Ms. Abou Farhat has portrayed a wide range of characters throughout her career, earning multiple Best Actress awards and professional recognitions. Known for her dedication to her craft, she continues to explore innovative roles that challenge artistic boundaries.

     

    Dr. Sam Lahoud

    Founding President of Beirut Film Society, filmmaker, and Senior Lecturer in Media and Film, Dr. Lahoud is a strong advocate for responsible filmmaking and the vision of a “Film Friendly Lebanon.” He holds a PhD in Information and Communications. His notable works include “Void,” Lebanon’s submission to the 2015 Academy Awards, and “C-Section,” shortlisted for the 2020 HFPA Golden Globes. Recognized multiple times by the Arab Cinema Center Magazine at Cannes (2018–22) among the “101 Personalities That Matter in Arab Cinema,” he has founded several international initiatives, including the Beirut International Women Film Festival, Beirut Shorts (an Oscars-qualifying festival), Cinema for Peace Academy, and the Lebanese Cinema Days across North America, the UK, and Latin America. He also directs short film competitions at international festivals in Morocco and Egypt.

     

    Mr. Elie F. Habib

    A graduate of the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Computer Science and Communication Arts – Radio/TV/Film, Mr. Habib made his film debut in 2001 with “Domenico Savio,” followed by his television debut in the drama series “Ibnat Al Moallem” (2005). He has also directed notable films including “Fakebook,” “Vitamin,” and “Bebe,” as well as series such as “Ghannoujit Bayya.” He is currently the owner and CEO of Green Sarl Production Company. Alongside his directing and production career, Mr. Habib has been teaching screenwriting and acting for cinema and television for over 14 years, delivering university courses and professional workshops.
