    Clinical Approach from an Advanced Nursing Practice Perspective

    The Department of Nursing Sciences of the Faculty of Public Health at Antonine University is organizing a training course on the theme of "The clinical approach with a view to advanced nursing practice" from October 24 to 29, 2019, at the Mejdlaya-Zgharta campus (conference room).

    Target audience: Nurses
    Registration fee: $40
    Speaker: Professor Pierre Verret, in charge of the "Clinical Examination” training for the undergraduate and graduate at Laval University, Canada.

    Objectives
    The objective of this training is to develop advanced clinical assessment skills among nurses in order to guide their diagnostic reasoning and enable them to apply the principles, methods, and procedures of nursing practice to the clinical examination at an advanced level.

    Program

    Day 1: October 24, 2019
    9:00 AM until 12:30 PM

    • Welcoming participants.
    • Presentation and exchange of each participant's clinical experience.
    • Presentation of the clinical approach.
    • Theoretical model of the case history.

    2:00 PM until 5:30 PM

    • Presentation and discussion on the first clinical case.
    • Review of the anatomy of the ENT sphere systems.
    • Techniques for physical examination of the ENT sphere.
    • Practical workshop on ENT assessment techniques.

     

    Day 2: October 25, 2019
    9:00 AM until 12:30 PM

    • Presentation and discussion on the 2nd clinical case.
    • Review of the anatomy of the pulmonary system.
    • Techniques for physical examination of the pulmonary system.
    • Practical workshop on pulmonary assessment techniques.

    2:00 PM until 5:30 PM

    • Presentation and discussion on the 3rd clinical case.
    • Review of the anatomy of the cardiac system.
    • Cardiac examination techniques.
    • Practical workshop on cardiac assessment techniques.

     

    Day 3: October 26, 2019
    9:00 AM until 12:30 PM

    • Presentation of the 4th clinical case.
    • Review of the anatomy of the neurological system.
    • Clinical neurological examination techniques.
    • Practical workshop on neurological assessment techniques.

     

    Day 4: October 28, 2019
    9:00 AM until 12:30 PM

    • Presentation of the 5th clinical case.
    • Review of the anatomy of the abdominal regions.
    • Abdominal clinical examination techniques.
    • Practical workshop on abdominal assessment techniques.

    2:00 PM until 5:30 PM

    • Presentation and discussion on the 6th clinical case.
    • Review of the musculoskeletal system (part 1).
    • Techniques for clinical examination of the upper limbs.
    • Practical workshop on upper limbs assessment techniques.

     

    Day 5: October 29, 2019
    9:00 AM until 12:30 PM

    • Presentation and discussion on the 7th clinical case.
    • Review of the musculoskeletal system (part 2).
    • Techniques for clinical examination of the lower limbs and back.
    • Practical workshop on upper limbs and back assessment techniques.

     

    2:00 PM until 5:30 PM

    • Theoretical evaluation (1 hour).
    • Review and evaluation of the learned techniques (2 hours).
