    16 September 2026
Adapted Physical Activity: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Health, Inclusion and Quality of Life

As part of the Lebanese National Sports Week, join UA’s Faculty of Sport Sciences (FSS) for the scientific seminar “Adapted Physical Activity: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Health, Inclusion and Quality of Life,” organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, Minister of Youth and Sports, the seminar will bring together the fields of sport sciences and health to explore how adapted physical activity (APA) can support health, inclusion, independence, and quality of life across different populations and needs.

    Event Details

Audience: UA students and the external public

    Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2026

    Time: 11:00 AM–12:30 PM

Location: Hadat–Baabda Campus, Building A, Fr. Antoine Rajeh Hall

Speakers: Ms. Nada Sattouf, Dr. Norma Dahdah, Dr. Saydeh Debleh, and Mr. Rony Gerges

    What to Expect

Through four focused scientific presentations, the seminar will examine adapted physical activity from complementary perspectives, moving from inclusive sport to disease management, healthy aging, and individualized intervention.

Participants will explore adaptive climbing as a means of expanding inclusive participation; the role of exercise in diabetes management and health promotion; the contribution of APA to maintaining mobility, independence, and quality of life with age; and the process of assessing individual needs and designing tailored adapted physical activity programs.

The seminar will also highlight the value of multidisciplinary collaboration across sport sciences, medicine, physiotherapy, nursing, psychology, and education in developing evidence-based approaches tailored to different needs and populations. In doing so, it will position adapted physical activity as a tool for health promotion, inclusion, functional independence, and improved quality of life.

By bringing these disciplines together, the seminar will offer participants a broader understanding of how adapted physical activity can contribute to health, inclusion, independence, and quality of life across different populations.
