Following the recent signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD) and STOP Plastique, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at Antonine University (UA) is collaborating with both organizations, in addition to the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) and the Green Party of Lebanon, to present an awareness session on Unlocking the Power of Recycling.
In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, this session aims to encourage active participation among students in recycling efforts through highlighting the critical role recycling plays in achieving sustainability.
Session Objectives
- Raise awareness: Inform university students about the importance and benefits of recycling for a more sustainable future.
- Educate on recycling principles: Provide a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts and processes involved in recycling.
- Highlight environmental impact: Emphasize how recycling reduces waste, conserves resources, and mitigates environmental degradation.
- Promote social responsibility: Encourage students to become active environmental stewards and engage in recycling efforts.
- Equip with practical knowledge: Provide students with practical tips and guidance for effective recycling in their daily lives.
- Foster community engagement: Inspire students to participate in local and campus recycling initiatives.
- Address misconceptions: Dispel common myths and misconceptions about recycling, promoting informed decision-making.
- Empower action: Motivate students to set personal recycling goals and take meaningful steps toward a greener lifestyle.
- Encourage involvement: Inform students about opportunities to actively participate in university green initiatives and join the Green Club.
