Community Service

Community engagement at UA is driven by measurable societal impact and collaboration with public, private, and NGO sectors. Service-learning courses, research initiatives, and the UA incubator translate knowledge into tangible societal impact. The University guides research toward government priorities and strengthens local communities. Alumni engagement, mentorship, and professional development extend this impact over time. This approach cultivates proactive and socially responsible leaders capable of driving sustainable change locally and globally.

Goal 1: Engage learners to grow as proactive citizens and change agents to respond to local and global challenges

A. Lay the groundwork for a living lab by integrating community-based projects into study programs by Spring 2026, and by annually selecting up to five student-led projects that can be potentially implemented by the Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED), based on their feasibility and the context of campus regions.

B. Formalize all faculty-, department-, and service-led volunteering activities through a centralized system, by September 2027, that manages participation, outcomes, and alignment with UA’s mission.

Goal 2: Strengthen UA’s social responsibility in serving society and its commitment to the development of the regions where its campuses are located

A. Review and implement UA’s social responsibility policy by defining priorities, annual plans, and training modules by September 2026.

B. Initiate and implement at least three social initiatives per campus by September 2027, in response to needs identified by surrounding local authorities, with annual impact assessments conducted.
