Research Advancement

This component encourages increased participation of instructors in research projects through systematic support mechanisms and professional development programs to enhance research competencies and capabilities. Research ethics and integrity form the foundation of all research activities at UA, where research is inherently interdisciplinary and contextualized. Our vision is driven by the ambition to cultivate a culture that hosts research incubators to support new initiatives. Looking ahead, knowledge transfer initiatives ensure that research findings influence teaching practices and contribute to economic and social innovation.

Goal 1: Promote interdisciplinary and contextualized research with strong visibility, firm anchoring in Lebanon, and broad spread over regional levels

A. Create and implement a university-wide policy by September 2026 to promote and reward scientific production, publications, and PhD studies, with criteria for recognition and financial support.

B. Establish and operationalize, by the end of 2026, an interdisciplinary observatory dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage in the Levant–Mediterranean region.

Goal 2: Strengthen the connection between research, study programs, and society

A. Build at least five faculty-led research partnerships with industries, local authorities, and NGOs by the end of 2027, and organize one international conference per faculty and programmatic department, all focused on local needs and socially relevant issues, with outcomes integrated into course content and community reports.

B. Form a steering committee by April 2026 to assess the integration of research into teaching, and transmit a report to the Rector with a set of recommendations for improvement by early 2027.
