In an effort to promote sustainable practices, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at Antonine University (UA), in collaboration with the Mtein Nature Reserve, the Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD), the Association for Forests, Development, and Conservation (AFDC), the Green Party of Lebanon (GPL), and the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED), is planning a reforestation and hiking trip to explore the natural beauty of the Mtein Nature Reserve. Join us this spring as we discuss the value of conservation and the effects of deforestation while planting trees and hiking through the newly restored forest.
Hiking Objectives
- Promote reforestation and sustainable practices
- Restore degraded land and increase the local biodiversity
- Give participants a chance to get in touch with nature
- Raise awareness of the importance of conservation and the impact of deforestation
- Enhance participants’ physical and mental well-being through exposure to nature and exercise
