The research master’s degree is, by definition, a curriculum that does not prepare primarily to the world of fieldwork, but to that of research. It constitutes the first step towards a Ph.D. thesis. This program allows our students to conduct research projects in Motricity education and adapted physical activities to contribute to the development of this sector in Lebanon.

This program aims to prepare researchers in Motricity education and adapted physical activities. Courses are structured in a way to initiate students to research by showing them the latest studies related to their topics.

Students wishing to enroll in this program must hold a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Sport, or a Bachelor of Arts in Motricity education and adapted physical activities, or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychomotricity, or a Teaching Diploma in Physical Education and Sports. Admission requirements are:

• diploma in French as a Foreign Language (DELF) Level B2 and Level B1.2 in the English Language; and
• oral interview with the dean.

Depending on the types of courses given and based on evaluative components the system for assessing student’s achievement of course learning outcomes, is set as follows:

• Written examinations for the theoretical subjects.
• Presentation and oral defense of the dissertation
• Master’s thesis in front of a jury.

The passing grade is set at 12/20 for all subjects as well as for the master’s thesis.

After obtaining the Master of Arts in Sport Sciences, the diploma holder will be able to:

• transmit ethical values and social values through research done about sport sciences;
• work in a group as well as work individually in several projects whether at universities or in sports’ institutions, centers and research units;
• communicate easily in the French or English language (based on the program chosen) both orally and in the written form;
• use digital referencing tools and security rules in order to acquire, process, produce, and spread information; and
• manage a research team.

Specific Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

• Master the research foundations in the field of motricity education and adapted physical activities.
• Identify the researches done in the field of sensory-motor deficiencies.

The Masters of Arts in Physical Education and Sport – Motricity Education and Adapted Physical Activities prepares the student for various positions such as:

• Researchers in sport sciences.
• Teachers in higher education institutions.
