Knowing how to respond in the first moments of an emergency can make a critical difference. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at Antonine University (UA), in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC), is organizing a First Aid Awareness Session to help students recognize common emergency situations and understand how to respond appropriately.
Session Objectives
Led by certified trainers from the LRC’s Emergency Medical Services Department, this one-hour session will introduce participants to the essential steps involved in:
- ensuring their safety and protecting the scene and the person in need;
- alerting emergency medical services and communicating key information;
- recognizing and responding to choking in a conscious person;
- recognizing and responding to severe bleeding;
- recognizing an unconscious person who is breathing;
- recognizing an unconscious person who is not breathing and understanding when cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is needed.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation issued by UA.
This is an awareness session and does not provide first aid certification from the LRC.
